In my childhood I read a lot— like the kind of reading where I snuck a flashlight under my covers to read past bedtime. Perhaps, I read so much because it was a welcome reprieve from my environment, it was my escape.

The benefits of all my reading are endless— there is so much to learn from books. So, it’s no surprise I enjoy writing fiction, and it’s no surprise that I don’t get a lot of time to write fiction. I’m thankful for the challenges from NYC Midnight because they remind me that I can write, that I can rise to a challenge, and most importantly that I really enjoy writing; it’s a happy place of mine.

Works of Fiction

  • Microfiction

In undergrad I studied Hemingway, a master at word economy; he proved word count is nothing but a number.

  • Short Stories

Imaginings, part truths, complete fiction? You decide. I’ll never tell.
